IoT-Enabled Output Feedback Communication-Optimized Control of a Flexible Crane Bridge System Based on Partial Differential Equation Modeling

The operation of an overhead crane system is influenced by various factors that induce vibrations in the crane bridge. This paper addresses the vibration control problem of a crane bridge system modeled using partial differential equations, where system states are not fully measurable. To enhance real-time monitoring and control, an IoT-enabled framework is introduced. A high-gain observer is designed to estimate the unmeasurable states, enabling an event-triggered controller that reduces communication burden while optimizing system efficiency. System stability is rigorously analyzed using Lyapunov theory, and mathematical validation ensures that event-triggered time intervals remain strictly positive, successfully avoiding the Zeno phenomenon. Finally, simulations confirm the effectiveness of the proposed IoT-driven control scheme.
