PENEGAKAN HUKUM DALAM PROSES PENYELESAIAN KASUS PENGGELAPAN KENDARAAN BERMOTOR RODA EMPAT DI WILAYAH HUKUM KEPOLISIAN DAERAH BALI

Motor vehicle embezzlement is a form of crime that has increasingly occurred in Indonesia, including in the Bali region. This embezzlement not only causes financial losses to vehicle owners but also negatively impacts the sense of security and public trust in law enforcement institutions. The aim of this research is to explain and discuss the law enforcement process in handling motor vehicle embezzlement cases within the jurisdiction of the Bali Regional Police, as well as the obstacles and efforts in law enforcement during the resolution of these cases. The type of research used is empirical research with a descriptive approach, collecting primary data through interviews and documentation, as well as secondary data in the form of legal materials. The analysis used is qualitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that law enforcement against motor vehicle embezzlement at the Ditreskrimum Bali Police has not been effective, as evidenced by the high number of recurring cases with no deterrent effect on the perpetrators. The main obstacles include a lack of evidence, limited CCTV footage, and organized criminal networks. The lack of public information also hinders the handling process. Efforts made include improving the quality of investigations, utilizing technology, training officers, and fostering inter-agency cooperation. Socialization to the public is also important to increase awareness and participation in crime prevention, as well as to assist authorities in tracking down perpetrators and evidence.
