It has become important that women take the lead in shaping and driving a gender-responsive development that is geared towards attaining long-term sustainability and goals for combating environmental degradation. A successful green recovery depends on ensuring women's full and equal involvement and emphasizing their significant contribution to various developmental programmes that are compatible with the climate and can help in mitigating damages caused to our ecosystem. Achieving gender equality, empowering women, and appreciating their role in environmental protection and sustainable development are the critical priorities that every State must consider at present.
