Formulasi dan Uji Aktivitas sediaan Gel Moisturizer dengan bahan aktif ekstrak kulit Buah Kopi Robusta (Coffea canephora) Sebagai Antioksidan

Indonesia is one of the biggest-coffee exporting countries in the world with Robusta coffee being one of the exported types. In the coffee bean processing, the large amount of coffee skin waste produced has the benefits and potentials to become an opportunity for developing products. In this study, Robusta fruit skin extract was used to make a moisturizer gel to determine its activity as an antioxidant. Robusta fruit skin extract has a stronger antioxidant activity compared to Arabica with an IC50 value of 72.96 ppm. The extract yield obtained was 5.88%. Anti-aging moisturizer gel formulation was made in 3 formulations. The 3 formulation gel were tested for physical properties and antioxidant activity. The results of the formulation test used had a viscosity value that was too high, but had organoleptic physical properties, pH, homogeneity and spreadability that met the requirements. Based on the results of the antioxidant activity test, the robusta coffee skin extract show strong activity (IC50 73.25 ppm) while the Moisturizer Gel show weak antioxidant activity ((IC50 > 200 ppm).
