Pengaruh Pemberian Edukasi Video Berbasis Bahasa Banjar dan Flipbook Terhadap Kepatuhan Minum Obat Pasien Hipertensi di Puskesmas Alalak Tengah

One of the challenges in treating hypertension is patient adherence to undergoing treatment. Local culture-based education can be a practical approach to improve patient understanding and adherence. This study aims to determine the effect of education using Banjar language-based videos and flipbooks on medication adherence, as well as to analyze sociodemographic factors that influence the level of medication adherence in hypertensive patients at the Alalak Tengah Health Center. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. This study divided the research subjects into two groups: the intervention group, which received education using Banjar language-based video media and flipbooks, and the control group, which received standard care from the health center, with each group consisting of 30 respondents. The instrument used to measure the level of medication adherence is the Adherence Refills and Medications Scale (ARMS). The results showed that the intervention using Banjar language-based video media and flipbooks had a significant effect on the level of medication adherence, as evidenced by the Mann-Whitney test with a p-value of <0.001 (p < 0.05). The results of the Chi-Square test showed that, among several sociodemographic factors analyzed, only the level of knowledge had a significant relationship with medication adherence p=0.003(p<0.05), while age, gender, education, occupation, and comorbidities did not show a significant relationship (p > 0.05). Based on these results, this study can conclude that providing education using Banjar language-based videos and flipbooks has an effect on increasing medication adherence, and knowledge is an essential factor in influencing adherence behavior toward treatment.
