Chronic recurrent dermatitis induced by Millepora dichotoma (fire coral): a case of long duration
We report a rare case of chronic, relapsing dermatitis persisting for 18 months following contact with Millepora dichotoma (fire coral), representing the longest duration of cutaneous symptoms after such exposure documented to date. This case underscores the potential for delayed hypersensitivity reactions with recurrent inflammation long after initial envenomation, highlighting the need for clinicians to recognize and manage prolonged dermatological sequelae in marine stings.
