The genome sequence of the Plumed Prominent, Ptilophora plumigera (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775 (Lepidoptera: Notodontidae)

<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual male <ns3:italic>Ptilophora plumigera</ns3:italic> (Plumed Prominent; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Notodontidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 347.81 megabases and 345.80 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.12%) is scaffolded into 26 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.45 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
