Research Progress and Prospects of Alcohol‐Amine Solvents and Catalysts in Carbon Capture Technology

To address the performance bottlenecks of carbon capture solvents and catalysts, this review comprehensively analyzes recent optimization strategies and practical applications of alcohol‐amine‐based solvents and catalysts. A systematic comparison of multisolvent systems reveals their ability to enhance CO 2 capture capacity by 30%–80% and improve regeneration stability through synergistic functional complementarity. Additionally, the review highlights advances in modified heterogeneous catalysts, which reduce desorption energy by 22%–52% and accelerate reaction kinetics via novel physical and chemical mechanisms. By integrating emerging solvent design principles and newly identified catalyst categories, this study provides fresh insights into overcoming the limitations of traditional single‐component systems. The demonstrated synergy between solvents and catalysts offers a promising pathway toward scalable and energy‐efficient industrial carbon capture.
