PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP TUNANETRA YANG BEKPROFESI SEBAGAI PENGAMEN DI KOTA MAKASSAR

This study aims to explore the public perception of blind individuals who work as street musicians in Makassar City. A quantitative method with a survey approach was employed, and data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to respondents selected using simple random sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression to examine the relationship between the independent variable (public perception) and the dependent variable (profession as a street musician). The research results are expected to provide an overview of public perceptions of blind street musicians and the factors that influence these perceptions. This study is relevant for understanding the social stigma faced by people with disabilities and offers recommendations for the government and society to enhance social inclusion for the blind. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of programs that support the empowerment and well-being of blind individuals in Makassar City. The limitation of this study lies in the generalizability of the findings, as the research sample was confined to specific areas within Makassar City.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap persepsi masyarakat Kota Makassar terhadap tunanetra yang berprofesi sebagai pengamen. Metode kuantitatif digunakan dengan pendekatan survei, pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada responden yang telah ditentukan melalui teknik simple random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear sederhana untuk menguji hubungan antara variabel independen (persepsi masyarakat) dan variabel dependen (profesi sebagai pengamen). Hasil penelitian diharapkan memberikan gambaran tentang persepsi masyarakat terhadap tunanetra sebagai pengamen, serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi persepsi tersebut. Penelitian ini relevan untuk memahami stigma sosial terhadap penyandang disabilitas dan memberikan rekomendasi bagi pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam upaya meningkatkan inklusi sosial bagi tunanetra. Temuan ini diharapkan sampel penelitian yang terbatas pada wilayah tertentu di Kota Makassar. Dapat berkontribusi pada pengembangan program-program yang mendukung pemberdayaan dan peningkatan kesejahteraan tunanetra di Kota Makassar.
