Unveiling FDP Breakthroughs and Innovations: Transforming Brownfield Rejuvenation Strategies for Infill Drilling Delivery Through Agile Reservoir Modeling and Integrated Technical Assessment
Abstract This paper presents an innovative study methodology derived from a recent successful infill drilling campaign conducted in a complex offshore brownfield in Malaysia. The field is mature, having over 250 wells with over 30 years of production history. The infill drilling initiative represents a key component of the Minimum Work Commitments (MWC) mandated by the field's PSC extension. Despite nearing execution, the project underwent a comprehensive reassessment of subsurface proposals based on the latest data and interpretations. Given the field's highly faulted and compartmentalized nature, significant faults potentially serving as flow barriers were acknowledged, yet not conclusively determining fluid transmissibility. Consequently, adjustments to the infill target trajectories were made during rig mobilization to the platform, culminating in the submission of a Field Development Plan (FDP) Addendum to the host authority within one month.
