MANUSEIO PERI-OPERATÓRIO DO PACIENTE EM USO DA AMIODARONA
Amiodarone is widely used for managing arrhythmias, especially in perioperative contexts, due to its efficacy in preventing postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF). However, its impact on surgical outcomes and risk minimization is not fully understood. This article aims to evaluate perioperative management strategies for patients on amiodarone, focusing on ensuring optimized surgical outcomes and minimizing risks. The scientific databases Scopus and PubMed were used for article selection, with the following English keywords: “Perioperative Management, Amiodarone, Patient Care, Surgical Safety.” It is concluded that amiodarone is effective in reducing postoperative atrial fibrillation and can improve surgical outcomes, especially in cardiac and pulmonary surgeries. However, its impact on intraoperative arrhythmias is limited, and its efficacy depends on personalized management and rigorous monitoring. Despite the benefits, amiodarone can cause adverse effects, such as hypotension and QT interval prolongation. Therefore, well-defined protocols are essential, and further research on dosage and administration methods is needed to optimize results and minimize risks.
