[Exploring novel strategies and models for the management of obstructive sleep apnea].
The disease management model for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) directly influences the reduction of its health impact and disease burden. However, the current single model, which relies on multidisciplinary involvement and patient-initiated hospital visits, overlooks early screening, risk factor management, and long-term follow-up that are essential for OSA as a chronic condition. Comprehensive strategies and innovative models are needed across disciplinary development, healthcare policies, and diagnosis-treatment protocols. These should integrate in-hospital diagnosis and treatment with pre-hospital screening and post-discharge management. This article elaborates on disease management strategies for OSA and explores potential management models from multiple perspectives, including the characteristics of OSA, current disciplinary status, professional workforce, diagnostic technologies, and remote management.
