Sözlüklerde Tanımların Yasallığı Sorunu

Both public and private dictionary publishers (dictionary preparers) assume legal responsibilities due to the dictionaries they publish. When we look at these responsibilities in terms of scientific research and publication ethics, we come across the following contrary actions: plagiarism, forgery, distortion, slicing, unfair authorship. Other than these, not specifying the institutions and organizations from which support is received and using theses or studies that have not yet been submitted or defended and accepted as sources without the permission of their owners can also be included. When viewed from this perspective, the definitions of lexical entries in dictionaries can be evaluated in terms of scientific research and publication ethics, and how to define lexical entries whose definitions are specified in a legal text is also an important question and problem. For example, In the geographical indication registration document obtained from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office with the file number C2006/004 on 10.04.2007 by the Association for the Protection, Development and Promotion of Ezine Cheese and Dairy Farmers from Çanakkale province, a broad definition of Ezine cheese was made. What kind of a situation emerges when this definition is compared with the definition in the Current Turkish Dictionary? The answers to these questions and the conformity of the definitions with the laws or the compatibility of the definitions will be discussed in the report.
