AUTHORING TOOLS-BASED INTERACTIVE LEARNING MEDIA FOR ENHANCING EXPLANATORY TEXT WRITING SKILLS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

An This research aims to develop an interactive learning media innovation based on Authoring Tools on explanatory text material. Researchers chose Authoring Tools because it allows them to create interactive learning media that produces various forms of publication such as CD, LMS, HTML, Zip, PodCast so that its reach is more widespread. The research method refers to the ADDIE development procedure which includes Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 30 students and 4 educators. The instruments used were a validation questionnaire, a practicality questionnaire and a test instrument. The validation questionnaire is used to obtain validity data, the practicality questionnaire to obtain practicality data from the responses of students and educators and the test instrument is used to measure effectiveness through pretest and posttest. The results of this research and development show that 1) interactive learning media based on Authoring Tools is valid as indicated by the results of the validation of material, media and language experts obtaining an average holistic Aiken index value of 88.37% “very valid”. 2) interactive learning media based on Authoring Tools is practical based on the results of the practicality test of educators and students with a percentage of 97.70% and 89.93% interpretation of “very practical”.
