Parameter optimization of laser welding for automotive brake joints based on Box-Behnken design

This paper focuses on the optimization method of laser welding process parameters for automotive brake joints. First of all, the comparison between laser welding and traditional welding shows the advantages of laser welding in terms of welding quality and productivity; The Box-Behnken design (BBD) method was then selected for process parameter optimization tests; Finally, a mathematical model is established based on the results obtained from the test, and the process parameters suitable for actual production are optimized. Due to the increasing use of laser welding processes in modern manufacturing industries, choosing the appropriate process parameters has become a practical problem to be solved in the production. This paper proposes an efficient parameter optimization methodology capable of rapidly determining optimal laser welding parameters while ensuring superior weld quality. The developed optimization model demonstrates exceptional computational efficiency with minimal constraints, exhibiting remarkable adaptability for both industrial laser welding applications and related academic research, thereby offering significant practical value and promising potential for widespread implementation.
