Enhancing Computer Science Education with PBL, TBL, AR, and VR

This study aims to examine the impact of integrating Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Team-Based Learning (TBL) in the “Advanced Computer Science: Interactive Technologies” course at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Using a qualitative case study approach, it evaluates how these technologies and methodologies influence student engagement, learning outcomes, and collaboration. The findings indicate that combining AR and VR with PBL and TBL enhances engagement, fosters collaborative learning, and supports diverse learning styles. This integration promotes practical problem-solving, teamwork, and motivation while improving conceptual understanding. Despite challenges such as selection bias and limited generalizability, the study highlights the transformative potential of these approaches in education. It recommends further research across multiple disciplines and longitudinal studies to assess long-term effects. The results emphasize the need for institutional support to effectively integrate emerging technologies with active learning methodologies
