Bridging Education and Financial Services: Policy Pathways for Equitable and Sustainable Banking in India
Banks are vital components of the financial ecosystem, exerting considerable influence in shaping the growth trajectories of economies across sectors and regions. The integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles within the banking sector marks a crucial transformation that profoundly affects operational practices and ethical decision-making throughout financial markets. This research article explores the intersection of sustainability and the educational policies governing banking professionals, with particular emphasis on India's unique socioeconomic diversity and financial market conditions.Banks play an essential role in advocating for and promoting sustainable practices.Through our analysis we identify significant gaps in the current banking educational framework to address the complexities of ESG integration within core operations. From a managerial standpoint, it is imperative to strategically embed ESG considerations into decision-making processes, enhance stakeholder engagement, and but to also invest in comprehensive ESG-focused educational and training initiatives.By undertaking such actions, banks can not only elevate their operational effectiveness but also contribute positively to society and the environment, fostering sustainable growth in an increasingly responsible financial landscape.
