The growth of artificial intelligence (AI) is now a key component of business operations and production processes within companies. Additionally, sustainable practices have also become integral to the strategic orientations of organizations. It may seem that the implementation of AI contradicts sustainable practices. However, recent research has shown that AI and sustainability can work together. There is a growing belief that AI can be aligned with sustainable objectives and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this paper, we will analyze the impact of implementing AI on company sustainability. The analysis will focus on both sustainable and unsustainable aspects of artificial intelligence. Our focus will be on examining the practices of IT companies. Finally, we will evaluate the regulatory framework surrounding the sustainability of artificial intelligence.
