Synthesis, Characterisation, and Antimicrobial Evaluation of the Quinazoline-Thiazole Adducts
This article covers synthesis of Quinazoline-Thiazole adducts (3a-3j) under mild and metal free conditions. The final compounds were obtained by the cyclisation reaction between the corresponding hydrazine-carbothioamides and phenacyl bromides. The synthesized compounds were confirmed by the various spectroscopic techniques such as 1H NMR, Mass, and IR spectroscopy. The antimicrobial evaluation of the synthesized compounds was carried out by the broth microdilution method. Notably, majority of the compounds were found to be moderately active against the various microbial strains whereas compound 3a exhibited potency similar to that of the standard drug.
