Research on the Ecological Culture of Ancient Mongolian Customary Law
Ancient Mongolian customary law contains rich connotations of ecological culture. It emerged from the Mongols' millennia-old nomadic lifestyle on the Mongolian Plateau. The ecological environment regulations in this customary law reflect the ecological cultural characteristics of respecting natural ecological laws, protecting the living environment, and emphasizing the long-term interests of generations. By analyzing the protection regulations of grasslands, water sources, forests, and the management wisdom of wild animals in nomadic and hunting activities, this paper reveals its legislative logic centered on ecological legal benefits. In the context of severe ecological environment problems today, in-depth research on the ecological culture of ancient Mongolian customary law offers legislative inspiration for modern China's eco-governance, bridging traditional wisdom with contemporary sustainability goals.
