On influence features of key elements of modifier on high-strength cast iron structure during intraform modification

Information is provided on two main modification schemes of high-strength cast iron and the key parameters of the FSMg. The features of the particle distribution of the modifier of small fractions of 0-4.5 mm were analyzed, and the principles of calculating a specialized gating system for intraform modification of high-strength cast iron were explained. The characteristic features of all chemical elements contained in FSMg from the point of view of their influence on the modifying effect are given. The effect of the calcium and lanthanum content in FSMg (residual lanthanum content in high-strength cast iron) on the TsKG number, as well as the calcium content in GCI, was shown and analyzed. The effect of increasing the calcium content in FSMg on the morphology, size distribution and shape factor of graphite inclusions is illustrated.
