Integration and Analysis of Solar Vertical Axis Wind Hybrid Energy System using Modified Zeta Converter

Nowadays, renewable energy sources are a good alternative to conventional energy sources like coal and fossil fuels, which pollute the environment, as they provide clean, sustainable, and eco-friendly power while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.Finding sustainable solutions for the rapidly increasing global energy consumption has become one of the major challenges of the modern world, which requires a shift towards clean, renewable and efficient energy technologies.A hybrid system integrating solar panels and Vertical-Axis Wind Turbines enhances energy production. However, integrating multiple energy sources requires a sophisticated control system for stable operation.Hybrid renewable technologies encounter performance uncertainties, while the grid integration can initiate voltage and frequency variations that do not protect the system stability. This paper is to identify the optimal configuration of solar and vertical-axis wind hybrid systems and to analyze their performance using a modified zeta converter. It incorporates Savonius and Darrieus turbines along with a modified zeta converter, which enhances phase and line voltages, improves efficiency and minimizes switching losses to achieve optimal steady-state performance. The improved efficiency and minimizing switching losses are achieved the optimal steady-state performance is 8.3% which enhances the phase and line voltages to 330 V and 215 V, respectively. The result highlights Darrieus system have greater performance.
