Effectiveness of Web Based Learning on Knowledge regarding Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) among Adolescent Girls

Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is one of the most common female endocrine disorders. PCOD is a major concern in adolescent girls in their reproductive age and it is one of the leading causes of infertility. A pre-experimental study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of web based learning on knowledge regarding Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) among adolescent girls studying in selected college, Tiruvannamalai. Pre test and post test design were used and 60 samples was selected through convenience sampling technique. Demographic variables and level of knowledge regarding PCOD among adolescent girls was assessed by using structured questionnaire. The study findings revealed that pre test mean score was 12.25 with standard deviation of ±3.4, whereas in post test mean score was 19.5 with a standard deviation of ±5.25. The mean difference was 7.25 and the calculated paired’t’ value was 11.00 which was greater than the table value (2.70). There was highly significant (p<0.01) difference in pre and post test level of knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian disease among adolescent girls after accessing web based learning. However, Technological advancements assist individuals in resolving instant as well as long-term problems in addressing their uncertainties effectively.
