For feeding cattle in peasant farms and private subsidiary farms, coarse, juicy, green and concentrated, as well as protein-vitamin and mineral supplements are used. A special group is made up of roughage, which is necessary for ruminants but often requires additional processing. The article proposes a method for pre-paring roughage for feeding by moistening it with alkaline water.
