Enhanced Pitch Angle and Battery Charging Control for Standalone Wind Power Systems Feeding DC Loads

This study presents an integrated control approach for a standalone wind energy conversion system (WECS) designed to supply power to DC loads. The system features a PIDcontrolled pitch angle mechanism and a tip-speed ratio (TSR)based battery charging strategy to enhance efficiency and system reliability. A Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique is incorporated to ensure optimal energy capture by adapting to rapid changes in wind speed. Recent trends in standalone WECS emphasize the importance of real-time coordination between renewable sources and storage units to maintain voltage stability and meet load demands. In this context, the proposed system dynamically regulates power flow and system parameters to maintain a steady DC output. Simulation results confirm the system's effectiveness under varying wind and load conditions, showing improved transient response and reduced voltage deviation. The method outperforms conventional strategies, making it a robust solution for off-grid energy applications.
