Four-Plate Capacitive Wireless Power Transfer Using LCL-LL Compensation for Electric Vehicle Charging Application

Wireless power transfer (WPT) has emerged as a transformative technology for efficient and convenient charging of electric vehicles (EVs). This study focuses on a four-plate capacitive wireless power transfer (CPT) system that employs an advanced LCL-LL compensation topology to enhance power transfer efficiency and system stability. The system leverages capacitive coupling for wireless energy transmission, with the LCL-LL compensation network providing resonance to minimize power losses and maintain stable operation under varying load and alignment conditions. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed CPT system achieves an efficiency of 85.75 % at 1.5 kW output power with a 150 mm air gap, making it a robust solution for high-power EV charging. This work contributes to the development of sustainable and scalable charging infrastructure for modern electric vehicles
