AI Trolley: Revolutionizing Grocery Shopping

Nowadays, there is a problem regarding supermarkets in that customers have to stand in long queues to pay their bills and it is a time-consuming process for both customers and stores. To overcome these challenges, there are some existing solutions, such as RFID-enabled trolleys, barcode scanners, and weight sensors. However, the developed solutions have security vulnerabilities, inaccuracies, and implementation challenges. To address this, an AI- powered trolley system is proposed that integrates IOT and deep learning. This system automates product identification, verification, and the billing process in real time through the computer vision algorithm YOLOv8n. This method eliminates errors and speeds up the check-out process. It promotes a better experience for the consumer by improving operations and lowering store labor expenses.
