Lyapunov Based Reference Voltage Tracking of a Switched Boost Converter

This article presents output reference voltage tracking for a DC-DC boost converter. The main objective is to find the voltage across capacitor which facilitates the tracking of an output reference voltage. For this, the state space averaging model is employed to design the final state space equation for a boost converter. The continuous controller is proposed using the backstepping control technique. The Lyapunov theorem is used to ensure the stability of the DC-DC boost converter, resulting in improved tracking performance. The applicability of the proposed controller is assessed in simulation. The results show improved output reference voltage tracking capability with less overshoots and settling time. Furthermore, an extensive comparative study ensures the efficacy of the proposed work. Abstract
