Liman Tıkanıklığının Liman Sürdürülebilirliğine Etkileri
AbstractThe role of ports is very important in world trade where maritime transport has a large share. Ports are an intermediary between cargo and ships and ensure the continuation of trade. The congestion that may occur in ports will affect many points, including the country's economy. The aim of this study is to reveal the effects of congestion that may occur in ports under the effects of port congestion on sustainability on the port area and supply chain. Strategies that need to be done to eliminate these effects have also been identified. Using the semi-structured interview technique of qualitative research methods, the data obtained as a result of interviews with experts in the field were systematically evaluated and interpreted with the MAXQDA 2020 package. According to the research findings, the effects of port congestion on the port area are mainly inefficiency in the operation, loss of time, as well as disruptions in the supply of the product demanded by the customer, cost increase and storage problems. As a result, customer dissatisfaction is paved the way for dissatisfaction. The effects that may occur in the supply chain are disruptions in product supply, stoppage or slowdown of production operations, cost increase and customer dissatisfaction. Strategies that may affect the elimination of port congestion and port sustainability are equipment support, efficient use of labour force, eastern dock, field and gate planning. Accordingly, accelerating customs procedures and increasing communication with customers have come to the forefront. As a result of the ports making the necessary investments, keeping up with the developing technology and making customer satisfaction their focal point, all problems related to congestion will be eliminated.
