Female genital cosmetic surgery is the aesthetic or functional improvement of the external genital organs. This field, which has become increasingly popular in recent years, includes various procedures. Corrections can be made in the labia, vagina and even the clitoris. There are various reasons for women to turn to these surgical applications, such as social media, partner request. In this period when female genital cosmetic surgery is increasing, midwives, who are the closest health group to women, and the counselling roles of midwives have a great duty. The aim of this review is to shed light on the counselling roles of midwives and to ensure that they provide evidence-based, accurate, and holistic guidance to women seeking genital cosmetic surgery.
