THE EXHIBITION “MEMORY OF M. G. IVANOVA” IN THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL RESERVE MUSEUM OF THE UDMURT REPUBLIC “IDNAKAR”
The article discusses the collection of items of the Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum of the Udmurt Republic “Idnakar”. The items were received for storage in the museum’s funds in the 2020s from the Udmurt Institute of History, Language and Literature of the UdmFRC UB RAS. They served as the basis for the creation of a memorial exhibition dedicated to the “Memory of M. G. Ivanova” – a well-known archaeologist in the Finno-Ugric world, researcher and popularizer of medieval Udmurt antiquities. The creation of a new museum space is relevant and timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of M. G. Ivanova’s birth. The collection is based on items of personal origin – documentary sources, rough notes of the researcher, books with dedications, portraits of famous archaeologists, personal belongings. The exposition is complemented by items of furniture, equipment and field inventory of the 1980s–2000s. The set of objects analyzed in the article from various sides reveals and complements the portrait of the archaeologist Margаrita Ivanova – her scientific, organizational and public activities. Addressing the topic contributes to the actualization of the memory of M. G. Ivanova and the popularization of the activities of the developing museum “Idnakar”.
