Deprem Kaynaklı Şev Kayması: 6 Şubat Kahramanmaraş Depremleri Sırasında Adıyaman Gölbaşı Gölü Örneği
On February 6, 2023, two earthquakes of moment magnitudes 7.7 and 7.6 occurred with epicentres in Pazarcık and the Ekinözü–Elbistan region of Kahramanmaraş. These earthquakes affected eleven provinces, causing numerous casualties and severe structural damage. In the aftermath especially in Gölbaşı (Adıyaman) and Hatay liquefaction phenomena were observed, including sand boils, lateral spreading, ground settlements and landslides. This study presents an evaluation of a landslide along the shore of Lake Gölbaşı in the Gölbaşı district of Adıyaman. Field investigations were conducted around the lake immediately after the earthquakes. Based on these investigations, a geological cross-section of the landslide area was prepared, in situ soil parameters were determined, and liquefaction susceptibility assessments were performed. A limit equilibrium analysis for the pre-earthquake condition yielded a minimum factor of safety (FS) of 4.050, indicating stability prior to the earthquakes. For soil layers identified as liquefiable, shear strength parameters were reduced to represent post-earthquake conditions, and a second limit equilibrium analysis was carried out. Residual undrained shear strength parameters were assigned to the liquefied soils. The resulting minimum factor of safety (FS = 0.636) indicates that a landslide along the shore of Lake Gölbaşı would be expected following the February 6, 2023 seismic events.
