NAĞDSIZ ÖDƏNİŞ SİSTEMLƏRİNİN İSTEHLAKÇILARIN XƏRCLƏRİNDƏ EFFEKTİVLİYİNİN ARTIRILMASINDA MALİYYƏ SAVADLILIĞININ ROLU
This study examines the role of financial literacy in enhancing the effectiveness of cashless payment systems on consumer spending behavior. The global shift to cashless economies, driven by advances in financial technology, has transformed traditional payment methods by offering unprecedented convenience and efficiency. However, these systems also present complexities that require a solid understanding of financial principles to operate effectively. Financial literacy, which encompasses knowledge of budgeting, saving, and responsible spending, emerges as a crucial factor in optimizing the benefits of cashless transactions, while also reducing associated risks such as overspending and financial mismanagement. The study explores the interplay between financial literacy and cashless payment adoption, analyzing how literacy levels influence spending patterns, decision-making, and the adoption of digital tools. Through case studies and comparative analyses, the study highlights the differences between developed and developing economies, and highlights the role of financial education, infrastructure development, and cultural dynamics in shaping consumer behavior. Key findings show that individuals with higher financial literacy are more likely to use cashless payment systems more effectively, leveraging their characteristics to improve financial management. Conversely, low literacy levels exacerbate barriers to adoption and responsible use, particularly among underserved populations. The study concludes with strategies that emphasize the integration of education, digital innovation, and policy to increase financial literacy and promote cashless adoption. These findings contribute to the broader debate on financial inclusion and the digital economy, and offer actionable insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and educators who aim to develop a financially empowered and digitally inclusive society.
