Structural changes in employment indicators of the population: a change in staffing guidelines

The subject of the research in this article is the dynamics of the structure of the employed population of the Russian Federation by employment groups and types of economic activity. The initial data are the official data of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation for the period 2000–2023. The purpose of the work is to conduct a structural and dynamic analysis of the employment indicator and assess structural shifts in the labor market of the Russian Federation. The hypothesis of the study is that the ongoing structural changes in the labor market require a change in staffing guidelines, a transformation of the requirements for the skills of young people in the Russian Federation. The methodology of the work focuses on the analysis of the dynamics of the number of people employed in the economy, the structure of this employment, as well as the assessment of structural changes over the period under review. The calculated values of the Ryabtsev coefficients indicate significant structural changes in employment indicators. Changes in the labor market require the state to change the orientation of student education towards increasing graduates of technical orientation at the middle and higher levels (engineers, developers, programmers, logisticians, physicists, mathematicians).
