Multicriteria decision-making methods for assessing leadership qualities in project management
This study aims to develop and apply multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods for selecting a project manager based on their leadership qualities. The research identifies the key qualities of project managers that significantly impact leadership and project management success, including analytical abilities, collaboration skills, responsibility, a desire for learning, and emotional intelligence. The methodology employs three widely recognized MCDM techniques: AHP, TOPSIS, and VICOR methods. Practical testing of the proposed methods was conducted, enabling a multi-criteria evaluation of candidates for the project manager role based on 12 indicators and facilitating their ranking. The findings demonstrate that the selected methods provide a comprehensive evaluation of candidates’ leadership qualities, effectively identifying the most suitable project manager. The results substantiate the choice of the most efficient method for solving the task, ensuring objective and reliable decision-making. The application of a multi-criteria approach enhances the effectiveness of project management and the achievement of project objectives. The findings contribute to managerial decision-making processes by establishing a robust framework for assessing leadership potential in project managers and selecting the ideal candidate.
