Isomeric double-cavity coordination cages: to encapsulate or not to encapsulate the guest
A series of three isomeric double-cavity discrete coordination cages with Pd3L4 formulation, constructed from Pd(II) and regioisomeric tris-monodentate ligands, are compared for binding pyrazine <i>N</i>,<i>N</i>'-dioxide. Two of the isomeric cages efficiently encapsulated the guest in both cavities, whereas one of the isomers rejected the guest completely.
