Research on the Cultural Preservation and Development of Industrial Heritage Based on New Digital Media Technology : focusing on Modern Iconic Industrial Heritage Cases

Industrial heritage preservation has become a key issue, and new digital media technologies provide innovative solutions. This study reviews theories of industrial heritage and digital media, identifying their interrelationship in cultural conservation. Three core characteristics of digital media and five attributes of industrial heritage culture are summarized, leading to four cultural properties under the digital paradigm: historical memory, cultural identity, educational dissemination, and participatory engagement. Based on this framework, case studies such as Tate Modern demonstrate that digital media not only counter the decline of industrial heritage culture but also drive its sustainable development. The study offers new perspectives for heritage conservation and highlights the growing role of digital technologies in cultural heritage practices.
