Improvement Strategies for Health Supplement Package Design to Enhance Consumer Purchase

Fitness has become a key lifestyle, driving growth in the global sports nutrition and dietary supplement market, projected to reach USD 82.61 billion in 2024 with a 3.3% annual growth rate through 2031. Conventional large-capacity packaging faces limitations such as poor portability, quality degradation after opening, inconvenient dosing, and excessive plastic use. This study investigates the impact of portable packaging design on consumer purchase intention and behavior, emphasizing its role in enhancing user experience, trust, and conversion rates. Packages were analyzed across seven dimensions: functionality, quality stability, price–value balance, visual aesthetics, portability, sustainable, and brand recognition. Research methods included literature review, global and domestic brand case analysis, and consumer surveys targeting ages 20~30. Results indicate current packaging is constrained in convenience, hygiene, and sustainability. Six improvements are proposed: stick-type and subdivided pouches, moisture- and oxidation-resistant materials, refillable modular structures, minimalist sports-inspired design, and QR code-based digital branding. Portable packaging thus serves as a core strategy to optimize usability, build trust, and drive purchase behavior.
