Deriving Exercise Feedback Design Elements for an Elderly-Friendly Smart Fitness Mirror : Based on Evaluations from UX Experts and Older Adult Users

This study aimed to identify core exercise feedback design elements for smart fitness mirrors through surveys and interviews with UX experts and older adult users. Data were collected via quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, and analyzed using t-test, word clouds, and co-occurrence network analysis. Results showed that experts emphasized precision and efficiency, whereas older adults preferred simplicity and stability, favoring large captions, concise text, positive auditory cues, and friendly tones. Five key dimensions—cognitive clarity, emotional receptivity, behavioral regulation, physical safety, and relational motivation—were confirmed as central to feedback design. The study highlights practical UX guidelines for developing smart fitness mirrors as senior-friendly digital healthcare devices.
