REPRESENTATION OF SOCIO-CULTURAL AND POLITICAL PROCESSES OF ITALIAN SOCIETY IN THE LYRICS OF THE FESTIVAL SONGS SAN REMO
The aim of the article is to identify the socio-cultural and political processes and realities reflected in the Italian-language song discourse of the second half of the 20th century, which will make it possible to trace the transformation of values and priorities of Italian society in this period. The material of the study consists of compositions performed at the Italian Song Festival, which is held annually in the city of San Remo and is a significant event in the social and cultural life of the country. In the course of the research it was determined that at the initial stage in the repertoire of the event the compositions devoted to the theme of love and romantic relationships prevailed, but gradually the problematics of the texts changed: there appeared subjects related to the search for social justice and class struggle, there was a deepening of the issues of self-identification, the issues of globalization, migration and urbanization were raised. The crisis phenomena that took place in Italy in the last quarter of the last century changed the style of the compositions, filled them with criticism of the government and morality, turning the songs into a form of protest.
