Bibliometric Mapping of Fintech Disruption and Behavioral Finance: A Comprehensive Analysis

Research Aims: This study aims to map the existing literature on FinTech disruption and behavioral finance by utilizing a bibliometric approach, focusing on the period between 2021 and 2024. The objective is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the trends, gaps, and interconnections between these two fields during this period. Design/methodology/approach: The research employs bibliometric analysis to identify significant trends in research, gaps in the literature, and the relationship between FinTech disruption and behavioral finance. The data sources include prestigious databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar, with a total of 400 relevant articles selected for analysis. The study emphasizes the use of software tools like Vosviewer for visualizing connections and trends in the literature. Research Findings: The findings reveal that while both FinTech and behavioral finance have developed significantly in recent years, comprehensive research that integrates both fields remains limited. The analysis using Vosviewer software shows a strong relationship between FinTech adoption, investment decisions, and behavioral finance. However, there is a noticeable gap in understanding how FinTech disruption impacts individual financial behavior, particularly in investment decision-making processes. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: These findings suggest the need for further research that integrates psychological factors, particularly in the context of the changes brought about by FinTech in financial behavior. This study contributes to the exploration of the relationship between behavioral psychology theories and technology adoption within the evolving digital financial system. By bridging these fields, it offers new insights into the understanding of individual financial decision-making in the age of FinTech disruption.
