EFICÁCIA DAS TERAPIAS FARMACOLÓGICAS X TERAPIAS NÃO FARMACOLÓGICAS NO TRATAMENTO DA ENXAQUECA: UMA REVISÃO BIBLIOGRÁFICA
Introduction: Migraine is a complex and recurrent neurological condition that affects a significant portion of the global population. It is especially prevalent among working-age adults. It is characterized by moderate-to-severe headache attacks, often accompanied by nausea, photophobia, and phonophobia, and possible aura in some cases. Objective: To describe the effectiveness of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies in the treatment of migraine, given its significant impact on quality of life. Methods: This integrative review aimed to compare the effectiveness of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies in the treatment of migraine. Results: Analysis of 15 articles published between 2020 and 2024 in the PubMed, SciELO, and LILACS databases. Discussion: The pharmacological interventions analyzed included triptans, lasmiditan, and anti-CGRP therapies; Non pharmacological interventions included acupuncture, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), relaxation techniques, biofeedback, and digital therapies. Conclusion: The findings indicate a confirmed benefit of pharmacological therapies for acute relief and prevention in selected cases, while non-pharmacological interventions demonstrated a reduction in attack frequency and improved adaptation to chronic management. The combination of pharmacological approaches with behavioral and physical therapy interventions showed promising results.
