THE PHENOMENON OF POST-CAPITALISM (BASED ON THE WORK OF SH. ZUBOFF «THE AGE OF SURVEILLANCE CAPITALISM: THE FIGHT FOR A HUMAN FUTURE AT THE NEW FRONTIER OF POWER»)
The relevance of the topic is that today the search for a description of the development of the modern information society in order to come up with new methodological approaches to its understanding and, as a consequence, its vision, first of all, on the path of its future, is of particular importance. Any methodological basis related to the analytics of social relations must be based on certain philosophical theories, concepts, or better yet, approaches. The analysis of modern society in such a formulation of the question becomes an extremely difficult task, since for almost twenty- five years the scientific community has not had a quantitative indicator of large-scale and logically complex reflections of works. However, there are works by individual authors whose reflections, conclusions, and approaches should enter the treasury of philosophical thought of our time. One of the authors of such an assessment is the American researcher, Harvard University professor Shoshanna Zuboff, known for her scientific discoveries since the early 2000’s. Her position, assessment, and characterization of the late form of capitalism, which she designates as “postcapitalism,” has a special “color,” it stands out for its freshness and density of thought. The purpose of the research is to familiarize yourself with the latest work of Sh. Zuboff with a demonstration of the main trends, foundations, and specific locations of the emergence of a new type of capitalism – surveillance capitalism. The objectives of the study: 1) to clarify the essence and characteristics of late capitalism, according to the ideas of Sh. Zuboff; 2) to outline the mechanisms of activation of information and communication technologies, the formation of their influence on the characteristics of late capitalism;3) to substantiate the concept of «surveillance capitalism», to show its conceptualization as a methodology for describing the information society of a new generation and a new approach, in which the sociological, anthropological, economic, psychological, information and technological dimensions of modern society are organically combined. 4) to form a conceptualization of the description of the information society, which acts as a new methodology in the analysis of modern society. in order to reach a new perspective and society or late capitalism. A deep analysis led the author to conclusions about the characterization of late capitalism as surveillance. The article proposes a consideration of the main provisions, categories, and strategies for the development of post-capitalism based on the materials of her work «Surveillance Capitalism»; a brief analysis of each part of the book is given; the results of the material read are summarized. The research methodology is based on a systemic-structural approach, analytical-historical, on the methodology of everyday life analysis with the aim of actively involving sociological, economic, anthropological, information-technological, and psychological data. Conclusions. Based on the anthropological, sociological, economic, psychological, information and technological dimensions of the impact of information and communication technologies, she has formed a holistic, conceptually sound methodology for describing the modern information society, which acts as a new methodology for analyzing modern society. The latter makes it possible to reach a new perspective of the vision of the development of society (in her terminology of «late» or «supervisory» capitalism), which, without a doubt, enriches the theoretical basis of modern science.
