NEW REALITIES OF UKRAINE’S ECONOMIC POLICY IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL CHANGES

The aim of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological principles of the formation of economic policy in Ukraine in the context of modern global transformations, the digital economy and social turbulence. The author relies on interdisciplinary research that combines economic, sociological and philosophical approaches. This paper analyzes Ukraine’s post-war economic policy in the context of globalization and international integration, digitalization of the economy and society, increasing uncertainty and turbulence, and responses to these challenges that reorient global economic policy towards social justice and inclusivity, geopolitical stability and security, as well as flexibility and resilience of economic systems. It is argued that aligning economic policy with the «spirit of the times» implies its flexibility, adaptability, and focus on modern challenges and opportunities that shape the development of the global economy. Several advantages of globalization for economic policy are considered, such as fostering economic growth through access to new markets, increasing production efficiency, and boosting competition, which forces companies to improve product quality and reduce costs. Negative consequences, challenges, and risks of globalization are also identified: economic inequality manifested in the growing dependence of poorer countries on industrially developed ones, the overall unfair distribution of wealth due to capital concentration in large corporations and financial centers, and the rising social inequality worldwide. An analysis of the digitalization of the economy is conducted, including the development of new technologies, the digital economy, automation, and artificial intelligence, as well as the growing digitalization of all socio-political processes. It is revealed that the consequences of globalization include social turbulence and increasing uncertainty, which, by accumulating the negative social outcomes of globalization, digitalization, and certain economic and political processes, largely define the «general spirit of the age». Ukraine's economic policy must be flexible, adaptive, and focused on modern global challenges. It must take into account globalization, digitalization, social turbulence, and growing uncertainty. Globalization opens up new opportunities for integration and economic growth, but at the same time it increases socio-economic inequality, dependence on transnational corporations, and creates environmental risks.
