Comparative Study of Gain Enhancement in Circular Microstrip Patch Antennas Using Coaxial Feed and Parasitic Patch Techniques

To develop and design modified circular patch antenna with a very less thickness of 1.5 mm at 6.15 GHz is designed with FR-4 epoxy substrate material and compared to a parasitic patch antenna with an RT-duroid substrate at 6.15 GHz that can be used in Military applications. To determine the bandwidth between the two antennas, simulation was performed using HFSS software. In addition to this, some independent sample groups were selected, which included a modified circular patch antenna ($\mathrm{N}=15$), and the control group, which included a parasitic patch antenna ($\mathrm{N}=15$). For patch antenna the significant value statistically $\mathrm{p}=0.048$ (p < 0.05) between modified and a parasitic antenna. In this comparison, a circular patch antenna patch antenna modified was significantly better and provided more bandwidth (354 MHz) than a Parasitic patch antenna (7.68 dB).
