Radio Frequency Induction-based Non-ferrous Pipeline Water Heating in IoT Paradigm
An induction-based water heating system is the main emphasis of the present notion. In this setup, a heating coil with a helical shape is used to conduct an alternating current at a high frequency. A water conduit made of non-metallic material is housed within this coil. Eddy currents are produced when metal teeth embedded in a non-metallic pipeline are subjected to high frequency flux. Metal teeth generate heat internally due to an induced eddy current. The water is heated as it sloshes past the metal teeth in the pipeline, thanks to the heat generated by the turbulent flow. Photovoltaic (PV) arrays, which generate direct current (DC) power, are the principal generators of electrical energy. To produce high-frequency current within the metal teeth, a mirror inverter is used in this context. In order to make it more energy efficient and respond faster, a high frequency source is used to input the helical heating coil. Anyone with access to the channel can see the water's temperature rise data provided to the cloud-based platform ThingSpeak before using the water. When the water temperature is reached, the supply is immediately cut off using the cloud-specific platform ThingSpeak. Matlab Simulink version 2023b was used to implement the entire system.
