Study on a Terahertz Low Loss Flexible Polymer Transmission Line
In this article, we propose a low-loss flexible polymer transmission line suitable for operating in terahertz (THz) frequency band. The polymer transmission line comprises a wire core with a circular cross section, a wire core cladding layer, a supporting layer and a metal shielding layer which are sequentially covered on the outer peripheral surface of the wire core. Through simulation method, it can be found that the loss of this THz transmission line is lower than $2.43 \mathrm{~dB} / \mathrm{m}$ and the dispersion coefficient is lower than $3.15 \mathrm{ps} / \mathrm{GHz} / \mathrm{m}$ in frequency band of $90-140 \mathrm{GHz}$, which has excellent radio frequency transmission performance. Therefore, we believe that this novel THz transmission line will have important application potential in high-speed wired communication and other fields.
