Psychological features of contemporary youth: resilience factors, migration intentions, and intercultural interest
The relevance of the study is determined by the need to understand how young people cope with the challenges of modernity, what cultural interests they develop, and which factors enhance their migration intentions. These insights make it possible to forecast and design effective youth programs aimed at fostering self-realization within the country. Empirical studies conducted in 2021 and 2024 to examine migration intentions, intercultural interest, and psychological resilience identified several key psychological characteristics: family, friends, optimism, and social connections enhance personal resilience; youth migration intentions are influenced not only by objective factors but also by subjective ones (life aspirations, readiness for intercultural adaptation, and social attachments); young people show a high level of intercultural interest and a desire to communicate with representatives of cultures significantly different from their own. The empirical study also highlighted concerns related to the socio-economic situation in the country, including economic difficulties, financial insecurity, environmental protection, and uncertainty about the future.
