Edukasi Gizi melalui Pemberian Makanan Tambahan Puding Daun Katu sebagai Upaya Pencegahan Stunting di Padukuhan Selo, Yogyakarta

Stunting, a form of chronic malnutrition in children, remains a significant public health issue in Indonesia. Although its prevalence has decreased from 31.4% in 2018 to 21.6% in 2022, the condition continues to pose a serious challenge. In Yogyakarta, the prevalence of stunting was recorded at 16.6% in 2022, highlighting the need for targeted and sustainable interventions. To address this issue, a team from Universitas Alma Ata implemented a nutrition education program combined with the provision of supplementary food in the form of katuk leaf pudding in Dusun Selo, Yogyakarta. This comprehensive program includes socialization of pudding preparation, skill training sessions, and the establishment of community-based cadres dedicated to stunting prevention. Katuk leaves were chosen because of their high nutritional content, including proteins, vitamins, and minerals essential for supporting optimal child growth. The initiative not only aims to provide nutritional intervention but also to enhance community awareness of the importance of healthy and balanced diets. By offering training and encouraging active participation, the program seeks to foster behavioral change in providing nutritious food, particularly for toddlers at risk of stunting. The references supporting this study highlight various academic and practical sources relevant to stunting prevention. These sources discuss the underlying factors contributing to stunting in Indonesia, community empowerment approaches, and practical strategies that emphasize local wisdom. Some studies also explore the use of locally sourced ingredients, such as mung bean biscuits and katuk leaves, as innovative nutrition interventions to improve maternal and child health. Through this collaborative approach, the Universitas Alma Ata program is expected to serve as a model for sustainable stunting prevention efforts, while promoting innovative, locally based nutrition solutions to improve the health and well-being of future generations.
