Editores e jornalistas: a produção do ‘livro-tarefa’ na campanha pelo retorno dos exilados ao Brasil
This study examines the work of the Alfa-Ômega publishing house during the period of political openness in Brazil in the late 1970s. It focuses on critically analyzing Os exilados: 5 mil brasileiros à espera da anistia by Cristina Pinheiro Machado. This book was published by a publishing house during the debate on the amnesty process. Our methodology included interviews with the book's author and with the publisher, Claudete Mangarielo, who co-founded Alfa-Ômega with Fernando Mangarielo. This study sought to verify the role played by sources in a context still marked by surveillance of the apparatus of political repression over cultural production. Our research suggests that editors and journalists contributed to the construction of historical memory regarding the meaning of the dictatorship in the long term.
